I like having them just in case and for solo. And with zirconia in boots Fleetfoot does even less for me. I agree that Fleetfoot (and Creeping Vines) are almost useless in groups. This frees up points from Cruel Barbs as well as Quick Draw, buying the extra 2 ticks on a slightly better Envenom, Blood Fang + Trail, and a free point. But I think I get better and more consistent DPS rotating spells with Blood Fang, Detonate, DOTs, Storm, Spectral, and rarely Blazing Arrow. It certainly solves the mana problem (I never get through an ascended boss without 1 or 2 pots). Single target, spamming Black Fang is a reasonable choice and one I've considered. But it does mean dropping both Napalm and Monsoon, or reducing single target DPS. Even as melee, 450% DPS is decent, especially as AOE. And there is an opening in my AOE rotation where I could use Lethal Concoction (at least until Tornado). No question Haste is a better group buff then Fleetfoot. By comparison, I'm looking at this DPS-centric build. I've been considering your suggested build, finally have time to write a response. ^ actually, this for purely PvE dungeon running. Of all the hybrid builds I've tested, sin/ranger (up to 15 for swift stride) and templar/ranger (up to 14 for defensive stance) are the only ones I would recommend.Įdited by Alteration, 01 July 2014 - 19:35. If you can go sin/ranger for evade and some damage, you can also go templar/ranger (alot more survivability, easily able to tank RG/BT bosses). Putting all attribute points 6/0 in focus however, is not that good. If you really want crit, getting crit talents, torrent upgrade + crit gems in ranger knives is enough to get you to 60-70% ish crit most of the time at full gear. ![]() It has lower average damage in long fights, lower haste, less dodge, and bleeds don't benefit from crits. Dual-Wield Mastery is significant DPS when you have a tank, but there are times you'll want a shield (PvP and some solo PvE mobs), so some people hold off on, or skip this entirely. Celestial Recall is very useful for PvP, but a waste of time in PvE. Some variations include Call of the Wild, Cruel Barbs, Exit Wound, Wild Instinct, Volley (3rd point), or skipping Napalm, Fleetfoot, Barbed Tip, Creeping Vines, Thrill of the Hunt. There's some variation, but here's a good starting point (level 43) I personally don't like the loss of haste.ĭPS: Standard build, all attribute points in ranged. Haven't tried it, but supposedly out DPS standard builds, but harder to play as it's more about 'burst' damage. All attributes in ranged.Ĭrit: All attributes in focus, concentrate on crit talents. Have to waste a talent point, and sleight of hand is not the most exciting talent for 2 points. Idea is to get both dual-wield mastery and survivability, without a shield. Rangsin: Spec into assassin skills Haste and Evasion. I'll only briefly mention the last two, as I haven't played with them much. I've seen 3 viable ranger builds, DPS, Crit, and Rangsin. Except where mentioned, this response is about PvE. You don't mention if you want to primarily build for PvE or PvP. ![]()
